Norman Ellis Wood Sr., 64, of Donnelsville, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 7:31 pm in his residence surrounded by his loving wife and family, following a courageous battle with lung cancer.

He will be deeply missed by his five brothers and sisters, Marion Daniels (Roby) of Springfield, Mabel Taylor of New Church, Virginia, Charles Wood (Betty L.) of Pocomoke, Maryland, Ada Linton (Charles) of New Church, Virginia and Fred Wood (Sandy) of Parksley, Virginia. And affectionately remembered and dearly missed by his thirteen grandchildren, Jimmy Wood, Donald Wood II, Lindsey Wood, Tiffany Cochran, Tim Cochran Jr., Thomas Cochran, Whitney Wood, Danny Hursh, Casey Hursh, Brittany Taylor, Patrick Taylor, Justin Pennington and Megan Pennington. And his two great-grandchildren, Kaidence Wood, Madisyn Wood and one on the way (Nevaeh).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruth Wood, sister Mary Lou Wesley, and brothers William Wood (Betty) and Arthur Wood (Nancy).

Norman retired from Suburban Propane in Enon after 33 years of service. He spent the last few years spending time with his family, working in his yard, camping, four-wheeling, riding his golf cart and enjoying his life. He was a very special man who will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Mark Decker from Cross Walk Worship Center of Enon officiating.
