Mary J. Winget


Mary J. Winget 67 of Springfield passed away peacefully in her sleep in Heartland of Springfield on Friday, December 21, 2007.

She was born on February 25, 1940, the daughter of Herbert T. and Pauline (Fenton) Russell. Mary was a lifetime member of the Westside Christian Community Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Archie D. Winget, granddaughter Ashley Strobl; and great-grandson Jeremiah Gevedon.

Mary leaves behind her loving family to cherish her memory: sons; Archie Jr. (Shellie), Earl, Bill (Traci Jacks) Winget all of Springfield; daughters Anna Winget, Helen (Jerry) McAfee, Ruby (Chris) Strobl, Winona (Duane) Ricketts all of Springfield; grandchildren Angie, Amber, Christina, Joshua, Athena, Hadley, Madison, Zachary Winget; Matthew and Amy Lafferty; Tabatha (Chris Sherrock) Strobl of Streetsboro, Ohio; Krystal Strobl of Alabama; Anastasia Strobl; Stephen Jr. and Alan Knowles; Stanton and Caleb Ricketts; Matthew and Mark McAfee; Dahlia Valley all of Springfield, Jessica Lafferty of South Carolina; Pfc. Brandon Winget of Ft Hood, Texas; Pvt. Naomi (Staff Sgt. Kevin) Rogers of Ft Campbell, Kentucky; Pvt. Christopher Winget of North Carolina; twelve great-grandchildren; brothers Eugene (Shirley), Charles (Cathy); Eddie; Virgil (Diane) Adkins of Springfield, Paul Adkins of California; sisters Gladys (Joe) Hill of Springfield and Helen Majors of Pennsylvania. Mary also leaves behind her wonderful extended Christian family and the residents and great staff of Heartland of Springfield.

Friends and family may call Sunday from 2-5 PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. A celebration of Mary's life will be Monday, December 24, 2007 at 10:00AM in the memorial home with Pastor Costandy Saba officiating. Burial to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Westside Christian Community Building Fund.
