Dale A. Wright


Dale A. Wright, 54, of Springfield, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, January 19, 2009.

He was born in Springfield on November 5, 1954 the son of Robert P. and Roma J. (Peterson) Wright.

Dale graduated from Shawnee High School in 1972. He attended Wright State University and The Ohio State University. Dale was the Plant Operations Supervisor at Forest Glen Health Campus where he had many friends. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church, but attended Southgate Baptist Church for many years. He was a member of Fielding Lodge #192 F. & A.M., South Charleston. Dale was a gifted carpenter, an avid reader, and a talented writer.

In addition to his mother, Roma J. Wright of Springfield, Dale is survived by his loving wife of ten years, Valerie (McKinley) Wright; his step-daughter, Danielle Gillam and her husband, Ryan Gillam of South Vienna and two grandchildren, Brady and Brock Gillam. Other survivors include his sister, Linda Scott of Springfield; brother, Gary Wright and special friend, Dearl Mills of Springfield; special nephew, James Duff and His wife, Molly, along with his great niece, Brittany Duff and great nephews, Andrew and Jordan Duff; and numerous relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1996.

Dale was a gentle, kind and humble man who loved the Lord and his family. He will be missed dearly until the glorious day we see him again.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday in Southgate Baptist Church with Pastor Eric Mounts and Rev. Randy McKinley officiating.

Interment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
