Marion Edward Van Hoose


Marion Edward "Ed" Van Hoose, 83, of Springfield, died at 3:03 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2009, in his home surrounded by his family, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Paintsville, Kentucky on February 26, 1926, the son of Willie and Bertha (Kissinger) Van Hoose.

He retired from D & H Manufacturing after 40 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II and Korea. He was a life member and past Commander of V.F.W. Post 8673 and past V.F.W. District 3 Commander, life member of D.A.V. Chapter 13, life member of M.O.C. Pup Tent 18, life member of AMVETS Post 189 and a member of Eagles Lodge 397.

Survivors include his wife, Annemarie (Pfister), whom he married December 15, 1948; two daughters and spouses, Petra (Scott) Kinard of Manchester, Tennessee and Stefania (Michael) Falke of Springfield; four siblings, Vivian Estep of Springfield, Harold Van Hoose of Tampa, Florida, Elizabeth Estepp of Springfield and Joe Van Hoose of Zephyrhills, Florida; five grandchildren, Eric Graves of Manchester, Tennessee, Shanna (Allen) Sturgill of Fairborn, Chante Ruf of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Bethanie and BreAnne Falke of Springfield; six great grandchildren, Brandon and Rachel Ward, Seth, Justin and Megan Graves and Jacob Ruf; special niece, Charlotte Russell and many other nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Julie, Betty and Denny Bronston for their excellent care.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME. A service will be held at 7 p.m. conducted by V.F.W. Post 8673 followed by full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Mercy Hospice.
