Lawrence Howard Voorhees


Lawrence Howard Voorhees, 44, of Springfield, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep, Thursday, June 19, 2008. He was born August 19, 1963, the son of George and Kathleen (Stickley) Voorhees.

He was a retired truck driver.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother; Kathleen, with whom he resided, three children; Joshua Voorhees, Casey (Raymond Hutchinson Jr.) Hammond and Noah Caudill, two sisters; Edith ( Dickie) Hall and Loretta (David) Bobbitt Sr., four grandchildren; Brooke Powell, Madison, Raymond III and Zachariah Hutchinson, three nieces; Shannon Waldon, Crystal (Rick) Jones and Sabrina (Robert) Shoemaker, three nephews; Scott Hall, Billy Hall and David Bobbitt Jr., and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father; George, paternal grandparents, Arthur and Stella Voorhees, maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Edith Stickley and one nephew William R. Hall Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his family.
