Ronald Russell


Ronald Russell, 54, of Springfield went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 7, 2008 in his residence.

He was born on September 13, 1953 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of Carl and Farelena "Lena" (Adams) Russell, Jr.

Ron has been a truck driver his entire adult life with Benjamin Steel, Midwest Steel, and most recently with Cordell Transportation. He was a member of the Grace Missionary Baptist Church.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; brother Vincent Russell; and step son Austin Ford.

He has left to cherish his memory one son Brandon Russell of Springfield; one sister Penny (Pete) Brown of Pitchin; one brother Darrell (Juanita) Russell of Huber Heights; a special granddaughter who was the light of his life, Kayleigh Rose Russell; three nephews Kirby & Caleb Brown, and Matt Russell; step sons Steven Ford and Joey Jones; step daughter Krista Jones all of New Carlisle; and special friends Karol & Dave Wolfe.

Family and friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. A celebration of Ron's life will be Thursday at 11:00 AM in the Grace Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Orbie Estep officiating. Burial to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are requested to be given in Ron's memory at National City Bank for a scholarship for his granddaughter Kayleigh.
