Ralph E. Richardson

Ralph E. Richardson, beloved husband, father and brother, of Springfield, went home to be with his Lord on Monday evening, November 10, 2008 in Springfield Regional Medical Center's High Street Campus.

He was born on November 5, 1923, in Champaign County, Ohio, the son of Charles E. and Lucille (Webb) Richardson.

Mr. Richardson retired from the Teamsters as a truck driver. He drove 10 years for CCC Highway, 23 years for Schafer's Bakery and several months for Howard Sober. He also owned and operated several service stations in Springfield. He worshipped at the Hillside Avenue Church of God, was a veteran of the Army/Air Corps National Guard, was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #397, 32nd degree member of Anthony Lodge #455 F & AM, also a member of the Valley of Dayton Scottish Rite.

For the past 25 years, he was secretary of the Snyder Park Golf Association. He was an avid golfer and was proud to be in the foursome to win the "Geritol" league tournament for the third straight year this past October. He is equally proud to pass his love of the game on to his children and grandchildren.

His survivors include his loving wife, Louise (Koerner) Richardson; one daughter and son-in-law, Denice (David) Hoendorf of Springfield; two sons and daughter-in-law, John Richardson, Todd and Lori Richardson, all of Springfield; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Glendon and Donna Richardson of Texas, and Darrell and Mary Richardson of Springfield; three sisters-in-law, Kathryn Richardson of Florida, Jackie Richardson of Kentucky, and Cindy Richardson of Springfield; two granddaughters, Allison and Lauren Hoendorf, both of Springfield; two grandsons, Joshua and Jacob Richardson, both of Springfield; a step-grandson, Michael and Amy Thomas of Cincinnati; a great-granddaughter Kaitlin Thomas of Cincinnati; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Eileen and LaVonne "Sis" (Kennedy); and four brothers, Russell, Bill, Cecil and Arthur (Harold) Richardson.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Conroy Funeral Home with Masonic Services at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Brent Farmer officiating. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.

We offer many thanks to the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff on 2 South for making his last days on Earth peaceful and comfortable. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Clark County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities.

He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
