Raymond D. Reeves


Raymond D. Reeves, 90, of Springfield died Monday, May 19, 2008 in his home.

He was born August 9, 1917 in Harrisonville, Ohio the son of DeWitt T. and Zetta Odesta (Dean) Reeves.

Mr. Reeves served in the United States Army during WWII and had been employed by United Cardboard and Carton, Pinkerton Security, Schaefer's Bakery and retired from Springview Center. He was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of God and was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by one sister Opal Whalen of Springfield; one brother Bud Reeves of Las Vegas, Nevada; several nieces and nephews including Lowell "Scott" (Deborah) Brammer of Springfield; and his caregiver of 23 years Denise (Ernesto) Macias of South Vienna.

He was preceded in death by his wife Emily Reeves on February 7, 2003; three sisters Effie Reeves, Edna I. "Connie" Chaney and Dorothy Wagner.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME with Pastor Barney Riffle officiating. The family will receive visitors in the Memorial Home from 10-11 AM. Saturday. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
