James Edward Rupert
James Edward "Ed" Rupert, 55, of Dayton, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2009 in the Dayton Veterans Administration Hospital.
He was born on December 15, 1953, in Dayton the son of Donald W. and Emilie E. (Rowland) Rupert.
He graduated from Tecumseh High School, Class of 1972 and went on to serve our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He later was employed by Yoder Industries where he worked for over ten years. He enjoyed playing pool and was known by many as "8 Ball Ed," he also was a vintage car enthusiast, and loved the Cleveland Browns.
He is survived by his father, Don Rupert and Jean Covert of Medway, one brother and sister-in-law, Chris R. and Sharon Rupert of New Carlisle, one sister, Donna S. Riffle of Florida, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Emilie and brother, Richard Rupert.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the VFW Post 9684, 1587 Lake Rd., Medway, Ohio. Those attending are encouraged to bring a picture and memories to share of Ed.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Ladies Auxiliary Cancer Fund, VFW 9684.
