Elizabeth L. Ross


Elizabeth L. (Ervin) Ross, 83, of Springfield, passed this life on Wednesday February 18, 2009 in Fairborn, OH. She was born July 2, 1925 in Springfield, OH to Joseph and Mildren (Rice) Ervin.

Elizabeth was a nurse at Mercy Medical Center from 1951 until her retirement in 1994 after 43 years of loyal service. She was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church, a 1943 graduate of Catholic Central High School, graduate of Mercy School of Nursing, active with the Dayton Ballet Company, Springfield Arts Council and the American Hosta Society. She volunteered whenever possible, was an avid gardener, enjoyed cooking, entertaining and was a gourmet enthusiast.

Survivors include three daughters and their spouses, Carol and Gene Christopher, Jacksontown, OH, Angela and Spencer Monroe, Wilmington, OH and Camille de Ganon and Dr. Kevin Myers, Chico, CA; 6 grandchildren, Leigh Anne Dickson, Susan Christopher, Christine and John Monore and Justin and William David; and 4 great grandchildren.

Her husband, William H. and a daughter, Theresa, preceded her in death.

Friends may call in the Conroy Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in St. Raphael Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the excellent and loving staff at Summerville at Fox Run, in Fairborn, where she has lived for the past 18 months and Odyssey Hospice of Dayton for all their assistance.
