Eugene P. Rich


Eugene P. Rich, 78, of Springfield and formerly of Middletown, died at 4:45 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2008 in Mercy Medical Center.

He was born in Middletown on June 1, 1929 the son of Homer and Anna (Elam) Rich.

He was the owner and operator of Rich Brothers Moving and Storage in Middletown for many years.

Survivors include four children, Paula Rich of Springfield, Eric Rich of Lynchburg, Virginia, William Palmer of Marble Falls, Texas and Kathy Liggett of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; brother and sister-in-law, Eudell and Pat Rich of Middletown; 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; three children, Cindy Palmer, Peggy Palmer and Sam Palmer; brother, J.W. Rich and sister, Phyllis Lovejoy.

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Mark Meyer officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
