Rose Marie Penn
Rose Marie (Krueger) Penn, 83, of Troy, Ohio went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 after an unexpected stroke. Rose Marie was born December 21, 1925 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Fred and Mattie (Reynolds) Krueger.
She graduated from Colonel White High School and married her late husband, Tom Penn, in 1944 after waiting for him to return from the Navy. She was full of smiles, gentle, kind and loved by people wherever she went. She set an example of uncomplaining bravery in adversity and had a great sense of humor! She loved to go out on her golf cart and care for her beloved flowers.
She is survived by her son, Ralph and Linda Penn; daughter, Leslie and husband, Bart Gessaman; grandchildren, Thomas and Christa Gessaman.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:30 to 7 PM, Friday, April 3, 2009 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio. Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 10 AM in the funeral home with Pastor David Starry officiating. Burial will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Vandalia First Baptist Church, 140 Elva Court, Vandalia, Ohio 45377, and the New Carlisle First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 212, New Carlisle, Ohio 45344.
