Evangelist Ophelia Peacock

I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Romans 1: 16

Evangelist Ophelia Peacock, of Columbus, Ohio, passed from this life on Thursday, March 12, 2009. She was born on January 24 in West Virginia.

Her special passion was working in the nursing home ministry. As the head of the Bereavement Committee, she shared the comfort and joy of the Lord.

She is preceded in death by her husband, the late Charles Peacock.

She is survived by her parents, Elwood and Mary Moss of Columbus, Ohio and five children, Elder James Ray (Debra) Thornwell, Donna Thornwell, Tonya (James) Nooks, Nathaniel Thornwell, and Kim (Thomas, IV), Caine (all of Columbus, Ohio); one brother, Elder Joseph Woods Jr. of Columbus, Ohio, her cousin Robert Neal (like a brother) of Baltimore Maryland, five step sisters and three step brothers.
