Marvin Gene Pieffer


Marvin Gene Pieffer, 55, of Springfield died unexpectedly Wednesday, April 9, 2008.

He was born January 13, 1953 in Springfield the son of Jack Edward and Lois Elenor (Reedy) Pieffer and was a 1971 graduate of South High School.

Marvin worked at Cooper Energy for ten years and has been employed by Miller Textiles for the past twenty-five years. He was a member of First Baptist Church and was a major fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bengals.

Marvin is survived by his wife of twenty-eight years Cheryl Ann (Van Gundy) Pieffer; his father Jack of Columbus, Ohio; two sons and a daughter-in-law Gene and Maria Pieffer of South Carolina, and Ian Mark Pieffer of Massachusetts; one daughter Angela Ann DeWitt of Springfield; one sister Marcia L. Hart of Springfield; one brother and sister-in-law Mark and Bridget Pieffer of Colorado Springs, Colorado; four grandchildren Brent, Sabrina, Genevieve and Austin; three step sisters Cheryl (Mike) Wheeler and Diana (Bob) Nelson both of Columbus, and Janet Henry of Michigan; one niece and three nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Omnie Kay Pieffer in 1983; his mother Lois; stepmother Dorothy Pieffer; and stepbrother Douglas Deer.

Friends may call Friday from 5-8 PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM. in the Memorial Home with Pastor Ken Whitt officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
