George Pappas


George Pappas, 83, of Point Pleasant, West Virginia died unexpectedly Friday December 12, 2008. He was born April 11, 1925 in Hamilton, Ohio the son of the late Paul Pappas & Clara (Thornberg) Bertholf.

He is survived by three daughters, Pauline and her husband Martin Kobus of Dayton, Ohio, Harriette Pappas with whom George resided, Georgette Evans of New Carlisle, two sons, Emerson Bostic of Florida, Allan and his wife Angie Pappas of Huber Heights, Ohio, two sisters, Juanita Horner of New Carlisle, Carolyn Patterson of Vandalia, Ohio; a brother, Joe and his wife Norma Bertholf of Vandalia; seventeen grandchildren; forty-seven great grandchildren; and thirteen great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie (Gire) Pappas, September 2, 1991; a sister, Betty Ayers and a granddaughter, Juanita Chapman.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Saturday December 20, 2008 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, with visitation one hour prior in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
