Edgal M. Preston


Edgal M. Preston, 76, of Springfield, went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday evening December 10, 2008 in Oakwood Village. He was born on June 23, 1932 in Johnson County, Kentucky, the son of Mitchell and Angie Preston.

Edgal had lived in Springfield for many years and retired from Navistar. His hobby was training horses, horseback riding and gardening. He was a member of Forest Valley Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon.

He is preceded in death by his parents and first wife Gladys Jewell Preston. He is survived by his wife Louraine; one son Mark (Rosemary) Preston; three grandchildren, Michael, Travis and Brianna all of Clay City, Kentucky; two brothers, Mr. and Mrs. James Preston of Michigan and Mr. & Mrs. Ernest Preston of Springfield; several nieces and nephews; step-sons, Jerry (Debbie) Tackett of Enon and Michael Tackett of Chillicothe; two step-grandchildren, Laura (Craig) Grammer, Eric (Jamie) Tackett and four step-great-grandchildren all of Springfield.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday December 16, 2008 in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME with Craig Grammer, Senior Minister of First Christian Church officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum.
