Billy A. Patterson


Billy A. Patterson, 84, of Springfield passed away Friday morning, December 14, 2007 in the Hospice of Dayton.

He was born June 1, 1923 in Lima, Ohio, the son of Andrew Allen and Lulua (Wiley) Patterson.

Billy was a veteran of the United States Navy and served our country proudly during World War II and retired from International Harvester in 1977. He will always be remembered as a very loving husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

Survivors include his two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Gary Harvey of Miamisburg, Ohio and Nancy and David Morgan of Beavercreek, Ohio; one brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Bernice Patterson of Springfield; five grandchildren and spouses, Dawn (Gregory) Bauereis, Robin Sievering, Jennifer Morgan, Stephanie (Jason) Tharp and Amanda Harvey; 11 great grandchildren, Megan, Brittany, Savannah, Brandon, Bradley, Taylor, Phillip, Heather, Caiden, Callin and Peighton and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 63 years in January of 2005, Mary Elizabeth (Ritter) Patterson; two brothers, Robert and Wallace Patterson; two sisters, Grace Gerringer and Jane Clear and grandson, Rodney "Skip" Morgan.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 from 1-2 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Newcomers Cemetery with military honors.
