R. Emerson Moone, Jr.


R. Emerson Moone, Jr., 90, of Springfield died at 10:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at Forest Glen Health Campus. He was born in Columbus, OH on October 29, 1918 the son of Ralph E. and Olive B. (Miller) Moone Sr.

He worked with his brother Gene at Zerkle Pattern Co. for twenty-five years and retired as project manager in 1984. He was a member of Kissel Lodge #674 F&AM. His hobbies included bowling, fishing and especially golf in the Springfield and Bucyrus area for many years. He also enjoyed volunteering as a golf ranger at Reid Park for the past several years.

Survivors include four children and spouses, Ralph E. "Pete" Moone, Springfield, Ted V. and Annette Moone, Jeannine Myers all of Bucyrus, OH, Lesley & Frank Van Hoose, Boone, NC; brother, Richard Gene Moone, Springfield; seven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Maxine M. in 1991 and a brother Robert, son-in-law Michael Myers.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to Linda and Joe Lauchard for their loving care and support they gave Emerson during his illness and also to wonderful staff at Forest Glen.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park, Springfield. Arrangements by Conroy Funeral Home.
