Robert S. McKinney
Robert S. McKinney, 92, of Springfield, went to be with his Lord September 20, 2008 in the residence of his daughter with whom he resided. He was born April 16, 1916 in Tremont City, Ohio, the son of the late Frank and Eva May (Bunner) McKinney.
He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. Robert served his country during World War II with the United States Navy. He retired from Navistar after thirty years of service.
He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert L. and Ann McKinney of Springfield, James F. and Kay McKinney of South Charleston; daughter Rose Baldwin of Springfield; ten grandchildren, Peggy McKinney, Bobby (Ginger) McKinney, David (Elizabeth) McKinney, Jimmy (Carolyn) Huggins, Nikki Rudy, Michelle (Lee) Dudley, Steve Donohoe, Brian (Ladon) Donohoe, Tim Baldwin and Tom Baldwin; sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Ethel McKinney and daughter Judith McClintock.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday September 23, 2008 with Pastor Sam Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Tremont City.
