Phyllis "Lucille" Metz
Phyllis "Lucile" Metz, 97, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2008.
She was born on March 23, 1911, daughter of Marion and Bessie (Moore) Snapp.
Lucille is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Collis R. Metz; her parents; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
She is survived by her son, Jerry (Beverly) Metz; sister, Ellen Watercutter; 2 grandsons, David (Crystal) Metz and Jeff (Cheryl) Metz; 4 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great granddaughter.
Lucille was an avid gardener for 50+ years and taught and judged flower arranging at the Clark County Fair. She was also a member of the Gardening Club for many years. Lucile attended the Bowlusville United Methodist Church and was a member since 1968. She loved playing computer games and doing crossword puzzles even at her wise age of 97.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 31, 2008 from 6-8 PM and Tuesday, April 1, 2008 from 12:30-1:30 PM with funeral service starting at 1:30 PM at JACKSON LYTLE WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, SPRINGFIELD. Pastor Steven Beck officiating. Interment to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
