Mary Jane Murphy
Mary Jane Murphy, 84, a lifetime resident of Springfield died Monday, August 25, 2008 in Eaglewood Care Center. She was born December 3, 1923 the daughter of Chester and Edna (Theile) Fisher and was a 1941 graduate of Springfield High School.
Mrs. Murphy was employed by Robbins & Myers until she married and started a family. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, now Faith in Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, White Shrine of Jerusalem, Shrine Widows Club, Wimodausis, and a life member of Norris Chapter, Order of Eastern Star. The Murphy's maintained a residence at Indian Lake since 1938 and Mary Jane was member of Indian Lake Eagles and the AmVets Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Pamela Ann and Rodney Brown, and LuAnn and Ronald Leach, all of Springfield; two grandchildren Ryan Leach of Columbus, Ohio, and Jessica (Adam) Wells of Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert M. Murphy in 2001.
Friends may call Tuesday from 7-8:30 PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM. in the Memorial Home with Linda Leach officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital.
