Mary Ann Matteson
Mary Ann Matteson, 72, of Springfield, passed away at 10:51 PM Thursday, July 3, 2008. She was born June 7, 1936 in Montgomery, Indiana, the daughter of Michael and Hazel (Thompson) Newton.
Mary Ann was retired from Robins and Myers.
Survivors include her daughter; Roxie Jaynes (Potts), two grand sons; Justin and Travis Jaynes, her siblings; Georgia (Bob ) Wininger and Michael Newton all of Loogootee, Indiana, Margie Mattingly of Franklin, Indiana, special aunt; Billie Bledsoe of Loogootee, Indiana, very special friends; Doris Smith and Carolyn Lockhart of Springfield, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years Ralph D. Matteson in 1992 and her parents.
Mary Ann was a very devoted Mother and Grandmother. She enjoyed going to every baseball game that her grandsons Justin # 4 and Travis # 4 ever played. She was known as "Grandma" at the baseball field. She loved the outdoors and had a huge love of horses and enjoyed taking lots of pictures.
Friends may visit with the family from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will follow the visitation beginning at 8:00 PM.
