Maria Magdalena Martycz


Maria Magdalena Martycz passed to life eternal on January 14, 2009 at the McAuley Center in Urbana. She was born on May 1, 1928 to Leonhard and Maria Meenz in Mariadorf, Germany.

She and her husband John emigrated to the United States in 1952. Maria loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and being an American.

She was preceded in death by her parents, several brothers and sisters, and her husband.

Survivors include children; Anne Martycz, Jeanette Adams-Teets (Jerry), John Martycz (Ginny), Stasy O'Brien (Steve Knisley), grandchildren; David ( Debbie) Adams, Jeremy (Andrea) Adams, Travis (Julie) Adams, Troy Adams, Carrie (Justin) Foust, Tony Martycz, Joel Martycz, Jacob Martycz, and several great grandchildren whom she loved dearly, numerous nieces and nephews and special friend Sue Pencil. Family in Germany includes her sister Annemie Jansen and family, Adele Koch and family.

The family would like to express thanks to all of the staff at the McAuley Center for their loving care of Maria. Maria was our sunshine.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in Maplegrove Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to the McAuley Center Activities Department.
