Lena C. Miller

Lena C. "Le" Miller (b. 6 July 1921, d. 16 April 2008) - Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, artist, and teacher, the fabulous Le Miller died on Wednesday at Hospice of Dayton owing to renal failure and complications from a fall.

She was preceded in death by her first husband (Emerson Studebaker) and by her second (Charles E. "Tut" Miller, Sr.); by her first son, Ted Studebaker; by a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Ann Mosier Miller; by six sisters and two brothers; and by four sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law.

Survived by her daughter, Marilynn Lee Studebaker Barr (Richard) of Kettering; by her second son, Charles E. ("Butch") Miller, Jr., of Burke, Virginia; by daughters-in-spirit, Fran Thaman of Huber Heights and Dee Monjot, of Springfield; by a sister, Sylvia Emmons Boots and a brother-in-law, Tom Miller, both of Kettering; and by five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Le was a signature member of the International Water Color society; photos of her award-winning artwork are on file at the Library of Congress. For nearly a quarter of a century, she taught basic art technique and multimedia at the Springfield Art Center, as well as at Riverbend in North Dayton and at Rosewood in Kettering. She was loved by all who knew her and admired by all who saw her; her art, which reflects the beauty of her soul and of the world she saw, will be prized by millions who never did.

A private committal service will be held in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens at the convenience of the family. The LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME is serving the family.
