Leo L. McClung


Leo L. McClung, 82, of Springfield, died Thursday July 24, 2008 in Springfield Regional Medical Center East High Campus.

He was born February 17, 1926. He served twenty-four years and retired as a Captain from the Springfield Fire Rescue Division.

Survivors include his wife Judith (Day) McClung; son, Gordon E. (Mary Ellen) McClung; three step-daughters, Lori (Jay) Jones; Dawn (John) Cotter all of Springfield and Karen (Bruce) Davis of Springboro; sister, Colleen Shelpman and sister-in-law, Shirley McClung both of Urbana; seven grandchildren, Sara, Erin, David, Zachary, Sophie, Jacob and Allison; two great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Kamryn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Marcus and Craig; two sisters and two brothers.

Private graveside services will be held for the family at Ferncliff Cemetery. The family is being served by LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.
