Louise McConnell - Manuel


Louise McConnell - Manuel, 78, of Springfield, departed this life, unexpectedly, Saturday afternoon, September 27, 2008 in Springfield Regional Medical Center, East Campus.

She was born March 25, 1930 in Georgetown, Georgia a daughter of Alma Catchings and Booker T. Johnson. Mrs. Manuel spent most of her adult life in Springfield and in recent years she joined the New North Street A.M.E. Church. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking and catering. She also loved sharing special times with her family and dear friends.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted family, including her mother, Alma Catchings, a brother, J.C. Johnson, a son, Andy (Rose) McConnell, five daughters, Cynthia Bullard, Alma (Wendell) Humphrey, Patricia Miller (Hayward Stringfield), Debra McConnell and Andrea (Alan) Lassiter, all of Springfield, Ohio; nineteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and a number of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, her husbands, Andy McConnell, Sr. and Jearl T. Manuel, a brother, Booker T. Johnson, Jr. and two grandsons, Charles Humphrey and Andy McConnell, III.

Visitation for Mrs. Manuel will be Wednesday, October 1, 2008 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. in the Greater Grace Temple, 380 W. Leffel Lane. The family will be present from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday in the church with Bishop Ronald L. Logan officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.

Arrangements are by the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home.
