James R. Myers


James R. Myers, 77, of Springfield passed away Tuesday morning, March 11, 2008 in the Good Shepherd Village with his loving family by his side.

He was born October 4, 1930 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of Earl and Mattie (Fitzpatrick) Myers.

He retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base in 1990 after 24 years of service. Jim enjoyed fishing but most of all he enjoyed watching his two grandsons, David and John McKinney. He will always be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Survivors also include his beloved wife of 51 years, Madelyn Myers of Springfield; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Dave McKinney of Springfield and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Alma Patton, Helen Engle and Ruth Fiessinger.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME with Masonic Services starting at 7:45 p.m. by Anthony Lodge 455.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Kirk Ross officiating.

Entombment will follow in the Rose Hill Mausoleum with military honors.

The Myers family would like to express a very special thank you to everyone at the Good Shepherd Village for their love and care they gave to Jim.
