James F. Maurer


James F. Maurer, 60, of Springfield, died unexpectedly at 12:08 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2007 in the emergency room of Mercy Medical Center.

He was born on May 22, 1947 in Xenia, Ohio the son of Paul and Naomi Jean (Riley) Maurer. He was a contract monitor at Wright Patterson Air Force Base for the past 18 years and also owned and operated Maurer Electric for the past 20 years. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, a 1966 graduate of Greenon High School, a former R.F.D. 4-H advisor and a former baseball coach for the Hustead Huskies.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Linda S. (Jenkins); 2 children and spouses, Ben and Emily Maurer of Powell, Ohio and Jamie and David Ryan of Springfield; 4 grandchildren, Benjamin Maurer, Alex, Hannah and Andrew Ryan; sister and brother-in-law, Vicki and Dennis Morgan of Orlando, Florida; 2 brothers and sister-in-law, Roger and Linda Maurer and John Maurer all of Springfield and many nieces and nephews.

Jim will be remembered for his great love of his grandchildren and his hard work ethic.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME. His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Bret Layton officiating. A private graveside service will be held with the family. Memorial donations may be made to Clark County 4-H or your favorite charity.
