Edward B. Montanus


Edward B. Montanus, 69, of Kettering, OH and formerly of Springfield died at 10:01 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2008 in Kettering Medical Center.

He was born October 16, 1938 in Springfield, Ohio the son of Francis M. and Margaret (Tehan) Montanus.

He had been employed by Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse, Beavercreek, OH for the past seven years. Prior to that time he worked for Furrows Lumber Company for a number of years. He was a 1956 graduate of Catholic Central High School, 1964 graduate of Case Western Reserve, member of American Legion Post# 0598 and was a US Army veteran.

Survivors include three children Paul D. Montanus, Wilmington, NC, Maureen E. Montanus, Keene, NH, Kathleen Montanus Hughes, Boston, MA. Three brothers and two sisters, Philip T. Montanus, Cincinnati, OH, Lawrence W. Montanus, Haines City, FL, Anita M. Montanus, Frances Montanus Hennessy both of Cincinnati, OH, Douglas A. Montanus and aunt Pauline Rolfes Max both of Springfield, ten nieces and nephews, six great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Theresa R. (Esposito) Montanus in 1993 and a twin brother Paul A. Montanus.

Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday in the Conroy Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in St. Bernard Church. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.
