Dorothy May (Hart) McCoy
Dorothy May (Hart) McCoy, 90, of Springfield, passed away at 4:05 AM Wednesday, August 1, 2007 in Good Shepherd Village.
She was born October 27, 1916 in Clinton County, Ohio the daughter of Andrew and Minnie (Smith) Hart.
Mrs. McCoy was retired from the Springfield City School System as a cook.
Survivors include two daughters Wanda Lee Richards and Sharon Diane Vanover both of Springfield, ten grand children: Dorothy Chrislen, Deborah Pittman, Steven Vest, Jeffrey Vest, Cynthia Boyd, Bill Richards, Darla Frederick, Dawn Schultz, Paul Vanover and Melissa Deal, twenty six great grandchildren, eleven great great grand children, three brothers Robert, Chester and Donald Hart, many nieces and nephews including a special niece Dolletta DeReamer of Urbana and a number of cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Harold F. McCoy Sr. January 3, 2002, sons Harold F. Jr., July 17, 1970 and Dale August 6, 1939, five brothers Raymond, Roy, Jesse, Paul and Buster Hart and four sisters Ada Shaffer, Verna Yoakem, Bessie Davie and Juanita George.
Friends may call in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME from 2- 5 PM Sunday. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
