William C. Lemons


William C. Lemons, 74, of Springfield, died at 1:58 p.m. Monday October 13, 2008 in Springfield Regional Medical Center High Street Campus following a brief serious illness.

He was born June 29, 1934 in Springfield, OH to Joseph J. and Katherine (Krupp) Lemmons. Bill was the former owner/operator, for 40 years, of Lemmons Heating and Air Conditioning, retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, V.F.W. Post 1031, D.A.V. Chapter 13, Elks Lodge 51, Moose # 536, Eagles aerie 397, Machinist Club, Union Club and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Joanne (Horn); 3 children and spouses, Chris and Robyn Lemmons, Dan and Nancy Lemmons, Springfield and Peggy and Glen Miller, West Chester, OH; 9 grandchildren, Jennifer, Austin, Sonnie, Nichole, Shane, Mollie, Kyle, Emily and Bethany "Boppers"; 2 brothers and spouses, Bob and Janice Lemmons, Springfield, Jerry and Mary Pat Lemmons, Colorado Springs, CO; 2 sisters and spouses, Dolores and Kenny Fischer, Memphis, TN and Mary Kay and Bob Parrett, New Haven, KY; numerous nieces and nephews.

A brother, Richard, preceded him in death.

Friends may call in the Conroy Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday in St. Bernard Church. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
