Sudye L. Lippolis


Sudye L. "Sue" Lippolis, 84, of Springfield, died unexpectedly at 11:20 p.m. June 12, 2008 in Springfield Regional Medical Center High St. Campus.

She was born May 23, 1924 in Urbana, OH the daughter of Charles E. and Florence (Boswell) Seldman.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic. Sue was a former 4-H advisor for various saddle clubs and work on various other local 4-H projects for many years. As an advisor she worked with many local and state committees including the county executive committee. She along with her husband operated the ice cream booth at the Clark County Fair for many years. Sue and Gus were recognized in 1987 with the Clark County "Friends of 4H" award.

Survivors include a daughter, Patti (Jim) Wright; a son, Gus (Liz) Lippolis, Jr., all of Springfield; grandchildren, Tony (Cathie) Wright, Kalamazoo, MI, Amy (Tony) Riegel, Dayton, OH, Tony Lippolis and Rosie Lippolis, Springfield; a great grandson, James Thomas Wright, Kalamazoo, MI; Springfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of sixty-one years Augustino "Gus" Lippolis, April 20, 2008, and daughter, Denita Lippolis.

Friends may call in the Conroy Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
