Mary Julia Kearns


Mary Julia Kearns, 87, of Springfield, died at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2008, in Hearth & Home on W. Harding Road. She was born in Springfield on December 3, 1920, the daughter of Aloysius and Claire (Morrissey) McGuire.

She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church and Catholic Ladies of Columbia.

Survivors include two daughters and spouses, Beth (Steve) Jordan of Wadsworth, Ohio and Jeanne (Dave) Simonton of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Martin (Teresa) Charters, Molly (Tom) Gilbert, Stephen (Shannon) Jordan, Julie (Beau) Zaremski, Sarah (Dan) Frey, Beth and Anne Simonton; great granddaughter, Danielle Charters; three sisters, Jeanne Trenor of Columbus, Theresa Casey of Akron and Clairdy Vaillencourt of Corpus Christi, Texas; brother and spouse, Joseph (Patty) McGuire of Raleigh, North Carolina and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin R. in 1999, two daughters, Kathleen Charters and Mary Ellen Kearns and her sister, Kathleen Cahill.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Hearth & Home and Community Mercy Hospice for all of their care and support.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday in St. Teresa Church. Entombment will be in St. Bernard Mausoleum.

Memorial donations may be made to Catholic Central High School or the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
