Charlie "Chuck" S. King


Charlie "Chuck" S. King, 78, of Springfield passed away Monday evening, April 30, 2007 in his residence following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 27, 1929 in Green County, Tennessee, the son of Clarence and Meda (Craddock) King.

Charlie was in the propane business for over twenty-seven years, finally retiring in 1997 from Suburban Propane of Enon, Ohio. He was also a member of Teamsters Union Local 957 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 397.

Charlie is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Joyce A. (Paul) King; a very special son, James A. (Lisa) Copes of St. Paris; a granddaughter, Amber Park; and a great-granddaughter, Alyssa Jo Park of St. Paris, the love of our lives. He is also survived by a sister, Sarah Ann King of Greenville, Tennessee and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law including Jack and Kyna Paul and Beverly Bradley who helped greatly during Chuck's illness. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Clarence King and Billy King.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, May 3, 2007 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Friday at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. James L. Vanzile officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
