A. Bernice King


A. Bernice King 85, of Springfield, departed this earth to be with her Lord and Savior on November 24 2008, was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She died from a brain aneurysm in Springfield Regional Medical Center.

She was born in London, Ohio on September 12, 1923, the daughter of Ernest and Myla (Canterbury) Wallace.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; husband A. Dale King; daughter Deanna Lynn King; sister Rosalie Tingley; brothers Paul & Wayne Wallace.

She has left to cherish her memory, two daughters Deborah King, Vickie (Ron) Quick; one son, Dale (Shari) King all of Springfield; five grandchildren; Heather, Jason (Melissa), Kelly, Rachel, and Alexander; two great grandchildren; Elijah and Meghan; many nieces and nephews; and her life long honorable friends Ruby and Bennie Williams.

Bernice was a member of Central United Methodist Church, the Pioneer Club, Eagles, Elks #51, Shriner's Widow, Machinists Club and Elderly United, and card club.

Visitation will be Friday from 6 - 8 pm in the Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home. A celebration of Bernice's life will be Saturday November 29, 2008 at 2:00 pm in the memorial home, with visitation for family and friends 1 hour prior to services. Burial to follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.

Charitable contributions are requested to the donor's choice. Bernice's family would like to thank the Springfield Regional Medical Center staff for their kindness and compassion during this difficult time.
