Richard A. S. Johnson, Jr.


Richard A. S. Johnson, Jr., 91, of Springfield, entered life eternal on April 1, 2007 in Venice, Florida.

Born November 17, 1915, in Chicago, Illinois, he served in World War II in the United States Army as an officer. He led a distinctive career in the comptroller's office with the International Harvester Company.

He and his first wife, Dorothy, raised five children celebrating fifty-two years of marriage before her death. Richard divied his time during the past ten years with his wife, Patricia, between Bay Indies in Venice, Florida, and their home in Springfield.

A dedicated father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he is survived by his wife, Patricia Hagenbuch Johnson; children, Barbara (Arthur) Golubiewski of Littleton, Colorado, Richard III (Linda) of Springfield, Brian of Columbus, and Eric (Paula) of Tremont City; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; special children, Rick Hagenbuch and Kay McGee; special grandchildren; and beloved pet, Wendi.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Joan and brother, Robert.

Services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, with calling hours beginning at 10:00 a.m.

The Reverend David Meredith, Senior Pastor of the Broad Street United Methodist Church, Columbus, Ohio, will officiate.

Burial will be in the Ferncliff Cemetery.
