Paul Eugene Jones


Paul Eugene Jones, 84, of Springfield, died Friday morning, May 25, 2007 in Eaglewood Care Center. He was born in Jackson, Ohio on August 22, 1922 the son of Carl and Oda (Hammonds) Jones.

Paul served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII being stationed in the South Pacific. He retired as an electrician from International Harvester and previously worked at Acme Electric and Garber Electric. He was a member of Story-Hypes United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis (Holbrook) Jones with whom he would have celebrated 65 years of marriage this year; daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and Richard Pearce of South Charleston; sister, Betty (Lynn) Weingart of Malta, Ohio; Brother, Ronald (Beverly) Jones of Springfield; four granddaughters, Lori Reetz, Denise (Brian) Jacobs, Rachel (Lance) Lewinsky, and Angelique (Stacy) McQueary; and five great grandchildren, Brandon and Felicia Atchison, Alexis and Robert Reetz, and Sierra McQueary. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert Jones; a sister, Winifred McCauley; and a half-brother, Clifford Hammonds.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Rev. Ruth Pribe officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
