Michael L. Jennings


Michael L. Jennings, 61, of Springfield passed away Monday, August 11, 2008 in his residence. He was born in Springfield, Ohio on October 6, 1946, the son of Charles E. and Mildred (McWhorter) Jennings.

Mike retired as a machinist from SPECO with 30 years of service and then from Miller Engine with 10 years of service. He was an accomplished artist and enjoyed fishing. Mike was a member of the NRA.

He was preceded in death by his mother and second wife Judy Jennings.

His survivors include his wife Rita A. (Speakman) Jennings, whom he married August 15, 1999; father Charles E. Jennings; one son Michael Earl & Marie Jennings both of Springfield; two daughters Susan Marie Baird of Huber Heights, Valorie & Bill Jones of Miamisburg; two step daughters Susan & Martin McDonough of South Charleston and Kimberly & Robert Sheppard of Springfield; one brother Darrell E. & Sharon Jennings of Springfield; three half brothers Tim and Chuck Jennings both of Springfield and Jeff Jennings of Russells Point; one half sister Rachel and Jim Shields of Urbana; eleven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Services will be Thursday at 1:00 PM in the memorial home with Rev. Danny Miller of Wings of Love officiating. Burial to follow in New Carlisle Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are requested to Community/Mercy Hospice. The family wishes to thank Elsea Wood from Passport, Community/Mercy Hospice, and the Springfield Regional Medical Center for all their care and support during this difficult time.
