Luna Rigsby Jenkins


Luna Rigsby Jenkins was called home to the Lord on April 22, 2008 at Pleasant Hill Manor, Piketon, Ohio.

She was born January 1, 1924 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, the eldest child of Floyd and Nettie Rigsby.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Melvin, an infant son and brothers, Robert Earl Rigsby and John Harlan Rigsby.

She is survived by her daughter Sharon and her husband Raymond Waggoner of San Antonio, Texas, her granddaughter Stephanie and her husband Norman Merrill, and her great grandsons Joshua Shelton and Landon Merrill of Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Also she will be greatly missed by her sisters Faye (James) Murray, Irene (Richard) Conley and Letha Prater, her brothers Marvin (June) Rigsby and Wayne (Audrey) Rigsby and sister- in-law Hazel Rigsby Conley and numerous nieces, nephews and their families and many friends.

Luna was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Pleasant Hill Manor for the loving care she received there.

Visitation will be at CONROY FUNERAL HOME, 1660 E. High Street, Springfield, Ohio from 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 25. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26 at the funeral home with Elder Wayne Rigsby, Therman Rigsby and Jeff Conley officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
