Wilma M. Ingle


Wilma M. Ingle, 92, of Springfield, went to be with the Lord, Sunday evening, January 11, 2009 in Heartland of Springfield following a brief illness.

She was born in Springfield on January 21, 1916 the daughter of the late Roy and Nellie (McFarland) Schaffner.

Wilma was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of Southgate Baptist Church and through the years, she and her husband, Harry attended several other area churches where she taught Sunday School and was active in missionary organizations.

She is survived by her two children and spouses, Peggy and Rev. Robert Monzon of Sunbury, Pennsylvania and Hank and Cheryl Ingle of Cary, Illinois; a brother, Karl Schaffner of Springfield; three grandchildren, Aaron Ingle of Paletine, Illinois, Emily (Maj. Matt) Lewin of Vail, Arizona, and Robert Monzon of Thomaston, Connecticut; two great grandchildren, Tyler and Mark Lewin; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry M. Ingle in 1990 and two brothers, Kenneth and Gerald "Bud" Schaffner.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1-3:00 p.m. Friday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.

Wilma's funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Eric Mounts officiating.

Burial will be in Enon Cemetery.
