William A. Grimm
William A. Grimm, 85, of New Carlisle, passed Wednesday April 8, 2009 in Springfield. He was born July 24, 1923 in Miami County, Ohio the son of the late Ralph & Mabel (Courter) Grimm.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII serving in the Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, & Ardennes Campaigns. He attended the Church of the Brethren, New Carlisle. He retired from the New Carlisle Post Office in October 1974 where he was the Assistant Postmaster.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Doris; two daughters, Jane & Jim Slanker, Judy & Glenn Cox all of New Carlisle; granddaughter, Deena (Slanker) & Brian Green of Muncie, Indiana; grandsons; Dave Slanker and fiancé Katie Milliken of Springfield, Andy & Britt Cox and Kevin Cox all of New Carlisle; a sister, Frances (Grimm) Barnhart; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 4-8 p.m. Friday April 10, 2009 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
