Rose O. (Effner) Gordon


Rose O. (Elfner) Gordon, 97, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2007 in Heartland of Springfield.

She was born on August 16, 1910, the daughter of Leonard and Margaret (Kiel) Elfner.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two loving sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Tina Gordon of Springfield, and Roger and Jeanne Gordon of Enon; seven grandchildren: Jill (Mario) Santoro, Timothy (Denise) Gordon, Chris (Elizabeth) Gordon, Cyndy (Steve) Cusson, Thomas (Vickie) Gordon, Elizabeth Gordon and Ian Juneau; fifteen great grandchildren: Michelle, Valerie, Jennifer, and Melissa Santoro; Haley, Tiffany and Andrew Gordon; Sarah, Seth, Caleb, Josiah, Elias and Hannah Joy Cusson; Joseph and Olivia Gordon; sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews, including special niece Joyce (Bob) Hull, and special friend, Alfreda (Fritzie) Hagan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband of fifty-seven years, Kenneth R. Gordon, two daughters, Dixie Lee and Judith Ann Gordon, five sisters: Anna and Bertha Elfner, Clara "Dot" Faulder, Esther Vermillion and Margaret Hook; four brothers: Henry, Pete, Carl, and Fred Elfner; and goddaughter, Evelyn Morgan.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Heartland of Springfield and Hospice caregivers for their devoted care. Memorial contributions may be made to the M.S. Society or the Alzheimer's Association.

Private arrangements have been cared for by the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.
