Nellie Jane Grim


Nellie Jane (Crislip) Grim, age 58, of South Charleston, died Sunday, July 6, 2008 in her home following a lengthy battle with cancer. Nellie departed this world surrounded by her loving family and went to be with her Lord and Savior.

She was born in Flat Gap, Kentucky on September 29, 1949 , the daughter of the late Casside Jack and Emma Lucille (LeMaster) Crislip and graduated from Flat Gap High School.

Nellie worked a variety of jobs throughout her life until she was unable to continue working. Nellie regularly attended the Springfield Enterprise Baptist Church where she was a loyal member of the church congregation and member of the Ladies Prayer Circle. Nellie was and will always be known as a faithful Christian with a pure heart full of God's grace.

Nellie is survived by her husband of 41 years, Garry Dean Grim, whom she married on June 16, 1967 in Flat Gap, Kentucky. Nellie is also survived by three children and their families; Johnathan Grim of South Solon, Jason and Sarah ( Ruddell) Grim of Canal Winchester with children Dakota and Zachary and Leigh Grim of Washington State, Phillip and Brandie (McKee) Grim of Springfield with children Bryce and Shelby. Nellie also had several step-children; Jordan, Autumn-Marie and Hannah whom she spent time with. Nellie loved all of her grandchildren dearly and she made every effort to make sure they knew it.

Nellie is also survived by one brother Russell (Joyce) LeMaster of Paintsville, Kentucky and one sister Marlene (Harold) Salyers of Flat Gap, Kentucky. Nellie also had several nieces and nephews and life long friends whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by both parents.

Friends and family may call from 2PM - 9PM on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 and one hour before the funeral services at Springfield Enterprise Baptist Church at 3501 Urbana-Lisbon Road, South Charleston, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Wednesday, July 9, 2008 with Pastor Jay Burchwell and Rev. Harold Salyer officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Mechanicsburg, Ohio. Arrangements are being handled by the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME.
