Jeanne Elizabeth Goodfellow


Jeanne Elizabeth (Beard) Goodfellow, 96, of Springfield, passed away at 9:40 a.m. on Saturday February 7, 2009 at Hearth & Home, W. Harding Road, Springfield. She was born in Enon, Ohio on December 5, 1912, the daughter of Elmer and Bessie (Swadner) Beard.

Jeanne was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, charter member of the Enon Historical Society, Past President of the Clark County Homemakers.

She is survived by her four children; Robert W. (Alice) Goodfellow of Springfield, daughter, Carolyn (Rick) Gartner of Urbana, Wayne Goodfellow of South Vienna and Gordon Goodfellow of Springfield. Twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces, a nephew and cousin. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of forty-two years C. Scott Goodfellow in 1980, a daughter, Donna, one sister, Kathryn Arthur, two brothers, Benjamin and Marion Beard, a nephew, Edwin Beard and a grandson, Scott Goodfellow.

The family wishes to express our deepest appreciation to the staff of Hearth & Home, W. Harding Rd. and the Mercy Hospice Nurses for their excellent care in caring for our mother.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Eastern Star services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor John Pollock of St. John's Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Enon Cemetery.
