James Ollie Gamble


James Ollie Gamble, 71, of Springfield died Friday, January 2, 2009 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born in Springfield, Ohio on September 27, 1937, the son of James and Isabelle Jane (Adkins) Gamble.

Mr. Gamble retired from Robbins and Meyers as an assembler and had formerly worked for Crowell-Collier. His hobbies included woodworking.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother John Gamble.

Mr. Gamble is survived by his wife Hilda Kay (Carter) Gamble; two sons Jerry W. (Medie) Gamble of Wind Gap, PA and Larry E. Gamble of Lowell, Ark.; one brother Robert Gamble of Tracy, CA.; two sisters Judy (Bill) Powell of Springfield and Pauline (John) Horn of Enon; two grandsons Dr. Kevin Gamble and Kyle Gamble; several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call Monday from 6-8 Pm in the Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home. A celebration of James's life will be Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at 1:00 PM in the memorial home with Rev. Charlie Crider of Springfield Freewill Baptist Church officiating. Burial to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
