John Gallagher


John Gallagher, 84, of Springfield, passed away at 12:15 PM Saturday, June 14, 2008 in Community Hospital. He was born January 19, 1924 in Columbus, Ohio the son of John and Ethel (Freeman) Gallagher.

Mr. Gallagher was an honorary member of the V. F. W. Post 1031 and had been employed as a painter.

Survivors include one daughter; Darla Garrett, North Las Vegas, Nevada, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son Michael Gallagher, a brother Richard Penwell, two sisters Adaline Stevens and Margaret Wilson and his parents.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday in South Vienna Cemetery with Pastor Rick Clos officiating. Burial will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, the Heart Association or the Eye Association.

Arrangements are being handled by the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME.
