Sylvia Ann Clear Ferryman


Sylvia Ann Clear Ferryman (Sylvia the Seamstress), 69, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 27, 2008.

She was born on July 13, 1938, daughter of Dale and Jane (Patterson) Clear.

Sylvia is survived by the love of her life, Francis (Bud) Ferryman whom she married on June 16, 1958; daughter Andrea (Terry) Thill of Springfield; sons Scott of Tremont City and Dan of Kettering; twin grandsons Anthony and Nicholas Ferryman; brothers Gerald (Pat) Clear of Springfield and Mike Clear of Columbus; Uncle Jack (Bernice) Patterson; sister-in-law and dear friend Ginny Clear; brother-in-law George Hanke; several nieces and nephews and many friends and neighbors, especially Brian and Barb Foster, Jim and Irma Virts and Mark and Lynn Hunger. She is also survived by her beloved cats and her dog Sasha.

Sylvia owned an alteration and repair shop in Tremont City and did repairs for Northridge Cleaners for over 25years. Her love for sewing began in 3rd grade and continued to grow with her. Her other passion in life was caring for her family, friends, and pets. Sylvia was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses in Urbana since 1971. She will always be remembered for her humor and her beautiful laugh.

Family to receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday, April 5, 2008 in the JACKSON LYTLE & WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, Springfield, with funeral service starting at 1:00 P.m.
