Richard M. Fisher


Richard M. Fisher, 56, of Springfield, died Saturday October 18, 2008 in his residence. He was born November 19, 1951 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of Richard and Phyllis (Burchnell) Fisher.

He was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Richard was a graduate of South High School in 1970 and Ohio University in 1974 with a Bachelor of Art in Journalism. He was employed as Deputy Director of Clark County Emergency Management Agency. He was a loving father, grandfather "pa", brother, spiritual leader of God. Richard loved his God, sons and daughter-in-law, grandchildren and sisters.

Survivors include his two sons and daughter-in-law, Matthew Reuben Fisher of Pickerington; Zachary Andrew and Dani Fisher of Springfield; three grandchildren, Ethan Herbert, Caitlyn Elaine and Corinne Marion-Marie Fisher; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Harlan Moore of Winter Haven, Florida, Joyce and Steve Keating of Springfield, Pam and Dave Campbell of Plattsburg, Phyllis Boyd of Morehead, Kentucky and Jeannie Ellis of Springfield; brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Marcia Hines of Iowa; former spouse, Mendelynn Fisher; six nieces, Angie Keating, Connie (Christian) Keating, Allyson Campbell, Phillip Ellis, Crystal Ellis and Sarah Hines; nephew, Scott Moore; step-sisters, Sherry Bostick, Vicky Schmidt and Rhonda Brown and step-brother, Larry (Pam) Fisher. He was preceded in death by his infant sister Lucille Burchnell, parents, step-father, Phillip Hines; niece, Lesley Moore; brothers-in-law, Mark Boyd and Mike Ellis; paternal grandparents, Willard and Opal Fisher; maternal grandparents, Reuben and Susan Burchnell.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1801 St. Paris Pike, where services will be held at 1 p.m., with Pastor Beverly C. DeBord, officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Springfield Regional Cancer Center, 148 W. North Street, Springfield, Ohio 45504. The family is being served by LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.
