Howard P. Fischbach III, M.D.

Howard P. Fischbach III, M.D., 62 of Springfield, died unexpectedly on Friday, August 10, 2007.

He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on September 5, 1944 the son of Howard P. and Evelyn (Ogg) Fischbach, Jr.

His wife, family and friends remember him as a most kind, generous, and honest man. His happiest times were times spent with his loving wife, Deb (Bell) whom he leaves behind. She has lost her soul mate and love of her life. He also leaves behind two loving sons and their families, Howard P. and Donna Fischbach, IV of South Carolina and John Alexander and Sherry Fischbach of Tennessee. He leaves behind two sisters, Connie Healey of Nebraska and Lynne Winkle of California. Howard had four beautiful grandchildren.

Howard devoted more than thirty years to his second love, the practice of medicine. He was a board certified anesthesiologist and spent the first twelve years of his career in the U.S. Navy, teaching and practicing anesthesia. He was known by his colleagues as someone who rendered not only the best medical care but also as a physician who always took the time to ensure that his patients were comfortable and cared for in every way possible.

Howard was an avid supporter of Box 27 Associates of the Springfield Fire and Rescue Division. Howard's faith in Christ leaves us all with the reassurance that he is in God's presence.

His memorial service to celebrate his life will be Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. in the Conroy Funeral Home with Chaplain Tim Dotson and Rev. Phil Fischbach officiating. His family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, his wife has requested that donations be made in his honor to Box 27. Donations may be mailed to Box 27, c/o Fire Division, 350 N. Fountain Blvd., Springfield, Ohio 45504.
