Dorothy Louise Funk


Dorothy Louise Funk, 84, of Arcanum and formerly of Springfield and Sarasota, Florida died unexpectedly Thursday morning. She was born in Milton, West Virginia on January 20, 1924 the daughter of David Alonzo and Clara Lula (Miller) Tyree.

Dorothy is survived by four children and spouses, Donna and Leroy Milam of Griffin, Georgia, Dorothy Diane Angell and her former husband and friend, Barry Angell of Arcanum, Connie Sue and Ron Hensley of Dayton, and Fred Eugene Funk of Springfield; two sisters, Ruth Ellis of Osgood, Indiana and Mary Jane (Jack) Handley of Culloden, West Virginia; and a brother, Roy Delano Tyree of Gold River, California. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Darin, Todd, Kristin, Natalie, Amy, Tara, and Carey; seven great grandchildren, Cassie, Brent, Aaron, Jordan, Ashlee, Abby, and Aidan; a great-great granddaughter, Abigail; many nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Tyree of Proctorville, Ohio and Gladys Tyree of California; and dear friends, Maxine Luster of Springfield, Jackie Murphy and Wheldon Davis of Sarasota, Florida, and Bob and Jane Godfrey of Louisville, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Eugene Funk; and three brothers, David Frederick Tyree, Melvin Lee Tyree and Albert Thomas Tyree.

Dorothy's funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Craig Grammer officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
